Emergence

The poem I wrote to accompany the portrait of this woman, or should I say, the poem that came through FOR her says it all. Done in acrylics on paper.

She is emerging
from the darkness she was so harshly cast down into
without warning
without pity
And now she arises
from the unforgiving blackness
not as victim
but a victorious phoenix in the making!
The colour is coming back 
into her world
into her face
but her formation is not yet finished
as she sculpts herself
with all the tools she has been given
into the eternal unbreakable
It will take time
but the path is already chosen
She is emerging
