The Sky is Falling

Done in a natural earth palette of teal, turquoise, cobalt and ultramarine blues, greens, white, and yellow ochre this abstract monoprint measures 12" (30.48 cms) x 9"(22.86 cms) and the image goes right to the edge of the paper.

The effect of monoprinting is somewhat a less controlled method than deliberate painting - you get one crack at it and if it works it's fantastic - the colours move, melt and shift in a very vibrant and determined manner. There is less control exerted and it's greatly left up to the paint, water and paper what will happen. I love that. It reminds me of Nature and of Life itself. No matter what we do. there is something bigger or greater than us that exerts it's own power and influence in our lives and sometimes, it's much better than anything we could have done alone.
